I think the title says it all. If you noticed, there is no dialogue today, that is because we are taking part in Dialogue Free Comics Day. The idea for this strip has been in my head for quite awhile. So much time has passed since they have seen Milly, with Dialogue Free Comics Day upon us, I thought it was the perfect fit to do this strip. Geist has more of the feelings of the two, and tho Milly would see Zech and think of the life she once had with him while he was living, Geist is the one who remembers.
Ramblings of Thanksgiving and long work hours
by Roland on November 19, 2012 at 8:48 amAfter a Naval Drill Reserve where I found myself working 12-14 hours for three days and then with Thanksgiving this week and all that goes into that, I decided to take the week off and resume Z & G back next Monday, maybe this will get my buffer somewhat started again. Or at least catch up on a guest strip I need to finish up and a fan art I want to do. Thank you for your understanding, who knows, I may end up doing a ZGVision for Friday, I’ll see how my schedule goes. and how it went was I finished up my guest cartoon for Bearman and was able to get Friday’s comic up. It didn’t feel good to have to miss Monday’s comic so I just made sure that I got one out.
I may have gotten out of being Active Duty Navy, but I am now in the Navy Reserve. This past weekend was my first reserve drill weekend while my comic has come back from hiatus and that in itself is causing the Sept 17th comic being late. Late comics upset me very much. I was working on the comic last night and I could barely keep my eyes open, so instead of injecting myself with coffee and possibly messing myself up for work on Monday morning, I decided that I would put the pen down and get some rest. Instead of pushing off the comic till Friday, like I had to do last week (due to a broken air conditioner and my family and I not being at the house) I am going to plug away and finish up the comic tonight and have the comic up at the latest Tuesday. I hope you understand my dilema and know that I am working out a schedule in my after work time to be able to have sufficient time to get my comic done and posted on the scheduled Mondays and Fridays. Thank you all for your continued support.
Ramblings of an explanation for the time away
by Roland on August 17, 2012 at 8:16 amI am back into making comics and I am happy. I can’t believe that it has been 9 months since my last comic being posted and I have been very upset by that. This was an unplanned hiatus, and it was all due to life changes, as it always seems to be the case. I had just gotten out of the Navy of 14 years and I ended up getting a job back in my home area of Corpus Christi, Texas. So from the notice of getting my new job, I moved from Florida to Texas the following week, leaving my family in Florida till I could find a place to live for us all. Trying to find time to do my comic between getting familiar with my new job and house hunting became non-existent. As time passed and things have settled down, somewhat, I finally got to doing my comic again. So I hope you excuse the absence and I really hope you enjoy the comic.
This is just a quick rambling to remind or just let people visiting the site, that Z & G is returning Friday August 17! Be sure to check back for the all new continuing story of Z & G!
Here is another awesome piece of artwork by Brad Joyce! Needing help, Brad jumped in once again and emailed me this. Here is what he said. “While messing around in watercolors I had the idea of bringing Z into a “real world zombie look” so I ran with it! A little mix media of watercolor/ink and presto!” I was like holy crap, this Rawks hard balls… or something like that. Anyway, Brad continues working in watercolors and whatnot, and he keeps knocking these things out of the park. Thank you Brad. As some of you may know, I am moving this weekend and that is the reason that there have been no comic updates. If you want to help me out by sending me fan art or guest strips, I will return the favor!
